I was arrested and charged with OVI in Portage County on New Year’s Eve. I am a school teacher and have never been in trouble. I was worried that I would lose my job and needed to make sure that I did not end up with an OVI on my record. A friend referred me to a lawyer she used before. Not knowing any better I went with him and he convinced me to plead guilty to an OVI my second appearance. Sentencing was scheduled for three weeks later. I went home and talked to my boyfriend and he convinced me that this was wrong. That night we got online and started looking for lawyers who might be able to provide a second opinion. I typed in “Best DUI/OVI lawyer in Ohio” and DiCaudo & Yoder LLC popped up. I called that night around 9:30 pm thinking I would leave a message. To my surprise Tom DiCaudo answered and we spoke for about 10 minutes. We scheduled an appointment that night to meet the next day. Tom spent about an hour and half talking to us about the case and what could be done. He did all this free of charge. We decided to go with Tom and he took over the case. He filed a motion to vacate my plea and a suppression motion. I’m not sure everything that he was arguing for but the Judge agreed and at the hearing dismissed the case.
